The low profile greatly reduces torque, minimizing the impact of the headstage on animals. Mice can lower their heads and are free to perform most behaviours, such as licking/nosepoke paradigms.
Compatible with the ShuttleDrive and the ShuttleDrive 64-ch Hirose EIB, though its low weight and features make this headstage very appealing for a large spectrum of usage.

Exclusive 9-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) allowing autonomous drive of the torque-free SPI commutator.

Available variants:
OEPS-6571 - 64 channel headstage with full 3D capabilities (9-axis IMU) for head positioning recording and the ability to autonomously drive the torque-free SPI commutator.
OEPS-6570 - 64 channels headstage with a 3-axis accelerometer. No 3D capabilities.

Notes:
The 3D capabilities require an Open Ephys Acquisition Board (3rd Generation) to work.
The 3D capabilities can’t be used when operating the headstage combined with a dual headstage adapter.
The ground and reference connections are different depending on the version of the device:
Version 1.0 - Not connected
Version 1.1 and onwards - Tied together
