Repairs and Returns Policy

 

Repairs

Open Ephys is all about respect for resources; we try not to waste time, money, or equipment. In line with this philosophy, we aim to support your use of open-source tools to the best of our ability by offering repair services for equipment bought through the Open Ephys Store. 

We offer a 1-year warranty period in which all repairs are free. Please contact info [at] oeps.tech, and include proof of purchase. This is limited to devices that have not been structurally altered or modified after purchase, and that have been subjected only to normal use. Any failures arising due to misuse rather than a fault in the design or manufacturing are not covered by this warranty. Shipping is only free within the first month after purchase; after that shipping costs must be covered by the user.

If your hardware is no longer under warranty, or was built by someone else, you can still get in touch with info [at] oeps.tech and we will see what we can do to help.

Do you have an old Open Ephys board that you no longer use? Please pass it onto another lab or send it back to us—we will put it to good use either for parts or educational purposes. 

Returns

To start the return process, please contact info [at] oeps.tech, explaining which item you wish to return and why, and including proof of purchase.

You are responsible for paying the return shipping costs, and shipping costs are non-refundable. Once we receive your item, we will inspect it. To be accepted as a return, items must be in the same condition in which they were received, and in the original packaging. We will notify you of the status and, if approved, begin the process of refunding.
