StimJim is a dual-channel electrical stimulator for extracellular stimulation and lesioning.

  • Generates arbitrary current or voltage waveforms with microsecond temporal resolution and microampere or millivolt scale precision.

  • Both output channels are electrically isolated from earth ground and each other to reduce electrical stimulation artifacts during concurrent electrophysiological recordings.

  • Includes automatic charge-balancing circuitry to prevent tissue damage due to charge imbalances.

  • Stimulus current and voltage are measured on each channel and reported to ensure correct stimulus delivery and calculate in-situ electrode resistance.,

  • Two triggerable channels for integration with external devices. .

  • Switch between selection of voltage or current stimulation on-the-fly.

  • The pre-programmed  StimJim Pulser Arduino sketch allows  up to 100 user configurable pulse train waveforms that can be configured with a simple set of serial commands. Alternatively,  you can program your own controller using the Arudino library for low-level control over all circuit functionality.

  • Community software resources are available, such as the StimJim Isolator and StimJim GUI.
