Miniscope V4.4 Assembly Kit

The open-source Miniscope V4.4 is a microscope that is mounted directly on the animal and used for neural imaging in freely behaving animals

This newest version, V 4.4, has a more stable motion sensor, is faster to assemble (needs less glue which slightly reduces the overall weight), and has a new regulator for increased image performance..

• > 1mm diameter field of view and ~ 1mm working distance

• +/- 200um electronic focal adjustment

• All achromatic optics

• 2.6 grams and 22 mm tall

• Absolute head orientation sensor

• Requires ~1/5th the excitation power of previous systems

• 1x Assembled rigid-flex PCB V4.4

  • Tested and programmed

• 1x Set of machined parts

  • 1x Objective Module

  • 1x Emission Module

  • 1x Excitation Module

  • 1x Objective Aluminum Sleeve

• 1x Set of lenses

  • 1x Electrowetting lens (EWL)

  • 2x Achromatic 3 x 6 mm

  • 1x Achromatic 4 x 10 mm

  • 1x Half-ball 3 mm

• 1x Set of filters

  • 1x Emission (ET525/50m, 4x4x1 mm)

  • 1x Excitation (ET470/40x, 4x4x1 mm)

  • 1x Dichroic (T496lpxr, 4x6x1 mm)

• 10x Thread-Forming Screws

To complete your experimental setup you will need, in addition to this kit:

• 1x Miniscope V4 Baseplate for mounting

• 1x Coaxial cable (assembled or kit)

• 1x DAQ Board or ONIX System

Support

Unlike the assembled Miniscope V4, the assembly kit does not yet come with full support. However, we want to make sure that you are comfortable putting the kit together. We have put together an overview of assembly instructions for building the Miniscope V4.4 here.
